This allows our merchants to do Verified by Visa (VBV) & MasterCard SecureCode (MSC) directly via our web site as well as through their own third party stand-alone software. The company's thin layer client has been gracefully integrated into all the API's for any developer to easily use them. Through a Cardinal Commerce account and your existing / new account, using the VBV and MSC program has never been easier!

Visa and MasterCard have developed fraud protection for online merchants while protecting consumers at the same time. The cardholder can register their card online and assign a password to their card. When a cardholder actively enrolls their card and shops on a participating merchant website, they will be asked to enter their password. When the password is entered, that order cannot be charged back for any fraudulent reason. If the cardholder is not enrolled, the transaction will continue as it normally would. Visa offers “zero-liability" and still protects you on these transactions. Whereas MasterCard protects only on transactions when the password has been entered (fully authenticated). When the password is approved, the transaction has been fully authenticated, meaning you are guaranteed payment. If declined, the shopper will be asked to re-enter the password or to submit another form of payment.
